Lorelace exists for one moment: the one where someone opens a gift and sees their place, with their name on it.
It started with coming home empty-handed
I love to travel, and I kept coming home from places I loved with nothing that said anything true about the trip. Souvenir racks sell the same skyline shirt with a different city name dropped in. What I wanted was something I'd actually wear: a design about the place itself, carrying the year we finally went and the people I was with.
I couldn't find it, so I built the shop that makes it. Every design here starts with a real place and is finished by you. A souvenir has the place on it. This has who you were with.
Named for two women
Lore, because every gift worth giving carries a story. Lace, because the best things are made with intricate, patient care. But the name goes deeper than wordplay: Lorelace is named for two women, generations apart.
Lorelai
My daughter, and the reminder every day of who this is really for. Not customers, people: the parents who finally took the trip, the friend who brings up one summer at the lake every time you see her. Lorelai keeps me honest about what a gift is supposed to feel like.
Ada Lovelace
The world's first programmer, who saw before anyone else that machines could help make beautiful things when people guide them with imagination. That's how Lorelace works too: clever tools behind the scenes, and I say yes or no to every design myself before it earns a place in the shop.
Small on purpose
You can tell a lot about a shop by what it doesn't sell. We don't carry a thousand near-identical designs. Every piece here passed one test: would I wear this home from that trip, or give it to someone who loves that place?
If the answer wavered, it didn't make it in. That's why the shop stays small, and why every design is built from the start to be personalized.

A pretty design says "I saw this and thought of you." The same design with her name, her summit year, the campsite number only your family knows says "there is exactly one of these in the world, and it's yours."
That's why nothing here is finished until you finish it. Every design is built around the words you'll add, whether that's a name, a year or an inside joke, and the preview updates as you type. Then we print that one-of-one, just for them.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be wanted. Each piece is printed when you order it, because it couldn't exist before you told us who it was for.

Gifts are high-stakes. A birthday only happens once a year; a retirement happens once. So the promise is simple: if your order arrives and anything about it falls short of what you hoped, tell us and we'll replace it at no cost.
No fine print. We'd rather remake one shirt than let a gift moment go wrong.
